What Shape Are You Taking?

This week, I joined Tamara’s Mindful Art Play Live session, where she guided us to explore the question: “What shape are you taking?”

We began with a movement meditation, then cut shapes from hand-painted papers and played with arranging them into a collage. What began as simple, playful exploration opened into something deeper—showing us how creativity can illuminate the transitions we’re experiencing in our lives.

As I worked with my shapes, I noticed how the “background” wasn’t just empty space—it became alive with form and meaning of its own. That realization felt like such a perfect metaphor for the changes happening in my own life and in our business. By making room, by leaving space, something unexpected and new emerged.

One of the beautiful qualities of expressive arts is how it gently mirrors what we’re moving through. By giving ourselves permission to play, we discover new insights, surprising perspectives, and fresh ways of seeing.

Paul Klee once said: “Art does not reproduce what we see. It makes us see.”

This process reminded me of that truth.

In creative play, we uncover meaning, listen to the wisdom of the creative process, and allow space for something new to emerge.

In our newsletter, I share more of my personal reflections on how this collage process mirrors the restructuring happening within our team, along with prompts for you to try in your own creative practice.
