Mandalas for Deep Personal Reflection

Expressive Arts Workshop online & EAFI Alumni Offering

with Susan Paul Johnson

June 16, 1-4 pm edt

$45

Circles can be surprising! Ever been curious how to deepen your expressive arts work through creating mandalas?  Using different prompts and intermodal processes, Susan will guide you through creating intuitive mandalas and working with them to find depth of meaning.

Creating in circular form can allow us to tap into our deepest intuitive selves in a place of safety and nurturing.  In this workshop, we will create mandalas and consider different ways of deepening their meaning – from journaling to interpreting motifs and symbols we use personally.  We will add movement as a way to experience our mandalas and enhance our own understanding of what may lie within.

Susan will also give suggestions for using mandalas in your facilitation work with others.  Susan has over 10 years of experience facilitating others in creating mandalas.

You can expect to be creating circular art forms, journaling, gentle movement. This will be a highly “hands-on” presentation, with material presented throughout rather than in lecture format. No art skills or expressive art experience is necessary.

You will need:

  • Paper
  • Drawing materials (colored pencils, oil or chalk pastels, markers, watercolors, paint)
  • Circle templates to trace and/or a compass. Paper plates work well.
  • Be prepared to work in a comfortable space uninterrupted by others. You will need a little space for movement.
